We were so inspired by the beautiful flowers we saw, that we decided to make our own version of Floriade:
We made some hand print tulips, and a variety of patty pan flowers which James decorated with pompoms, sparkly sequins and glitter. We also used some left over coloured pasta from another project and stuck them onto a tulip shaped piece of paper. James and I made a backdrop of green rolling hills and clear blue sky to arrange our flowers on.
We also read a beautiful book by Lois Ehlert called Planting a Rainbow, which fits perfectly with our day out at Floriade. A mother and child plant a variety of bulbs in winter and wait for the warmth of spring for the bulbs to sprout and create a rainbow of colour. The illustrations are vibrant and cheerful and this book is perfect for exploring colours, different types of flowers and gardening.
This was such a fun way to welcome in spring!
We are linking up to some great link parties this week, so please check out some of the lovely blogs.
